A core-flex approach to assignment policies and relocation support packages is an increasingly popular choice for many employers who want to reduce the number of policies they have and ensure have the flexibility to cope with an ever-broader array of needs.
What is a core-flex policy?
Essentially a core-flex policy comprises two parts. The first being the “Core” element which are the relocation benefits the Global Mobility department sees as being an essential to the success of an assignment. The “Flex” element provides the opportunity to offer a range of benefit options and to tailor the relocation support package to specific needs. This can be prescribed by the Global Mobility team or set up so the assignee can select themselves.

We use our benchmarking and expertise to help you define the core aspects of your policy offering and identify which are going to deliver the greatest value. We focus on those support items that assignees really need. Hygiene factors if you will. Services such as immigration, household goods shipments and accommodation are examples of core requirements.
Setting up the Flex options for your policy
We also help to create a menu of flexible service options to choose from such as school search, pet moving, storage, partner support, language training, cultural training, and other services that can be selected to fit the specific needs of the relocating employee, their destination and the assignment.
