Oliver joins our graduate programme where he will undertake two years’ of training, learning every aspect of the business
Oliver is a recent graduate, he was spotted and quickly identified for fast track talent development and invited by the senior management team to join the AGM Graduate Programme.
As part of his first day, we asked Oliver to write a blog about his experience and what aspirations he has.
Oliver’s Story
“I have just started at the AGM Group as a trainee. Joining the relocation and moving industry was an unexpected career move for me as my academic background is in historical archaeology and the conservation of historic buildings. However, when working at a historic house, I met members of the AGM Group senior management team who saw potential in me and invited me to join their graduate programme.
It seems that I showed potential as they invited me to see how the business works. After visiting the company headquarters I saw how varied and open the opportunities available to me are within the business and was interested in becoming part of the team.
For the next two years, I will be part of AGM Group’s specially-designed programme, which will immerse me into each, and every part, of the company. The programme will be diverse as I will be training in all sectors of each company: Abels, Gerson and Momentous. This will allow me to experience what each brand has to offer and for me to plan my career path. Therefore, I will be provided with a comprehensive understanding of the relocation and moving industry.
The depth of the training programme was what appealed to me, along with the sociable aspects of the job. By meeting all the employees who work in the business and seeing how each department works together as a whole, I will be able to comprehend and appreciate, not only what our current and future clients need from relocation services, but also how best to achieve this. I aspire to make the most of this experience and become a driven professional, using my knowledge to deliver focused solutions to people’s moving challenges.”
