Managing Emergency Situations Guest Speakers
Anita Blanchett, who recently retired after more than 30 years in the relocation industry, is well admired and respected. Her career began in the early 1980’s where she was responsible for creating the relocation service departments in Asia, Europe and the UK including establishing a presence in emerging locations such as Beijing and Moscow at a time when the only way to do so was to get on a plane and work with the embassies and consulates there. In the late 90s, Anita was part of the team that managed the merger of the various companies and took the opportunity to relocate to Danbury, in the US. On returning to the UK, Anita worked for several companies within the industry before being hired by BP to help bring international assignment services back in house. Once again, she had to establish both services and service providers in diverse and remote locations. While at BP, Anita gained experience in disaster management, particularly large-scale emergency evacuations, where the team’s work blazed a trail. This has led to her current volunteer role with Shelterbox, helping to raise money for families affected by natural disasters and political problems around the world.
Steve Taylor is a Security Risk Consultant with a diverse security background and a proven reputation in asset & close protection, training and operational resourcing. Steve has developed an extensive network of connections globally to offer security services to a broad variety of clients. His experience ranges from operating as a surveillance operative in Northern Ireland, five years’ military service, private contractor in Iraq, training provider for persons working in complex environments, consultation to major oil producers on executive protection globally, support on high value fraud cases and internal audit & development of security company’s policies and procedures. Steve has travelled and worked in some of the world’s complex and challenging environments and has developed business and negotiated contracts at government level.
Andreas Geronimos is the Strategic Partnerships Manager at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia where he has worked for the last 7 years. In previous roles in Australia he worked in the personal client segment, as a Relationship Manager and leading a team of Premier Bankers. He moved to London in February 2017 to take up the challenge of Strategic Partnerships Manager, building and developing connections with businesses supporting professionals and their families moving to Australia
